GIRO TOWER

I 2018

Unlike the process of creating a residence or building, where there are specific challenges and restrictions regarding the terrain, as well as a programmatic content to be respected according to the client's wishes, the design of this project did not have exact limitations regarding the place of insertion or a specific demand regarding its format, but it did present constraints regarding technical characteristics, specific measures required, and finally the mechanical solution for the proper functioning of a tap.

As such, the idea behind this design stems from a deconstruction of the object, formed from a desire to simplify the form as much as possible, which is, in the end, a brushed black monolith, a small pavilion that, when placed on a bench, could play with people's imaginations. Subtly sectioned, the block has an articulating shaft at one of its ends that allows movement and the consequent surprise of the water falling in 1/4 of the turn, locking the opening at ninety degrees, in a momentary "L".
