BARONESS HOUSE VII
I 2015
The house in question was designed taking into account the considerably hilly topography, the generous plot, the surrounding native forest and the clients' desire for a house that looked small and cozy, despite having an extensive program. To achieve this, the rooms were diluted into smaller, autonomous volumes that sit on three levels.
Respecting the natural slope of the land and making room for nature, which runs through the project at every stage, a first access block is established. Intended for guest rooms, caretakers and the garage, it is rotated in relation to the main volume and is marked by its verticality, seeking out different views and lights.
Next, and as a loose element, a long circulation challenges what was previously avoided in the internal spaces, taking on the important role of connecting the entrance block to the main volume: a single-storey house with three suites, a living room and a service area. The social area of this pavilion is crowned by a metal roof and thatched ceiling, an element that announces the transition between the different spaces. And finally, a third block is presented by a stone foundation that embraces the swimming pool, sauna and technical areas.
