HOUSE LARANJEIRAS VIII

I 2009

Located in Paraty, the design of this summer house in the shape of a semi-open triangle, apart from what could be an obvious response to the shape of the plot, which is also triangular, is in fact the way found to absorb as much as possible of all the views and light conditions of the land. Obeying the rules of distance, the project looks out towards the sea and the mountains, while also looking at itself.

Having created a first floor element with the largest possible frontal area, a second body is positioned perpendicular to it, distributing the view of the untouched forest to the bedrooms and, for the master suite, reserving the balcony that faces the sea. As the only room with a double floor, it is strategically positioned so as not to shade the other spaces and, through the patio, to allow the flow of light, which is present throughout the entire length of the room.

Courtyards, in turn, are important voids that remind us of the closeness of nature. They are breathing spaces for coexistence that enhance the absorption of the elements present in the architecture and the surrounding landscapes.
